Random Reviews For Yous!:

Antonymes - Some really great avante-garde recording from this Hidden Shoal 5-piece.

Crystal Stilts - New music from this Brooklyn Psychedelic Folk group stand up to their earlier releases.

Grimes & D'eon - Two of Montreal's finest electronic producers team up for this split 12".

Ladysmith Black Mambazo - World music releases don't get much better than this.

Le Tout Puissant Orchestre - Maybe they do, first release in 25 years!

Sweatshop Union & Swollen Members - Two western Canadian hip hop releases for you. Sweatshop has always stayed underground and found a ton of success with their last EP series. Swollen Members are an act that has bounced from mainstream to the underground and back again, personally I think this is their best release in years.

The Sandwitches - Both Adam and I found that this album was both super-cool and somewhat annoying... What do you think?

CJAM New Music for April 14th, 2011!!!

Greetings All!

Well, the weather has finally started to pick up and a barrage of shows and festivals are coming up over the next few months all over Michigan and Ontario. If you're hoping to get coverage for any event coming up this summer be sure to let me know and I will try my best to get something set up for you. I was even able to acquire accreditation for Mutek Festival in Montreal for a couple of programmers when they requested it, so be sure to take advantage of these great opportunities! On that topic I will be emailing you a list of upcoming events and festivals this summer this weekend, take a look and see if anything piques your interest!

A quick word on Play Sheets:
- If you're doing a pre-recorded episode of your show, you need to emailing me the play sheet BEFORE the program goes to air.
- Make sure that you are writing "yes" in the Can Con field. NOT "y" or "yeah" or "yes!". The database will not record anything other than "yes".
- Be sure to consistently meet your Can Con levels, if you are doing a special program that doesn't allow you to meet your quota make sure you email me explaining the situation and then be sure to compensate the following week.

With our CRTC application quickly approaching it is absolutely imperative that our play sheets and logs are in good order to ensure our ability to broadcast.

Lots of new music this week, big add weeks for both the electronic and jazz sections. As per usual: Artists have been linked to their respective web pages for your previewing convenience.

Some Reviews For Yous:

B LAN 3 & Jib Kidder - Two great experimental electronic releases from the fantastic Asthmatic Kitty Music Library Catalog Series.

Darkest Hour - Solid release from this hardcore/metal outfit that has found a decent amount of success with us in the past.

Ladytron - Album celebrates ten years of releases from this female electro duo.

Les Chaud Lapins - Fun traditional French music.

Darius Jones & Matthew Shipp - Matt Shipp is one of my favourite jazz pianists, add in the alto sax stylings of Darius Jones and this album is a winner.

The Cave Singers - 3rd release from this reputable Seattle based pop-folk outfit.

Unkle - A follow up to last years, 'Where Did The Night Fall' features vocals from Nick Cave.

Boats - Canadian indie rock that been getting a lot of attention as of late.

Cake - I've always loved Cake and I think I always will, so take this recommendation with a grain of salt.

Cavelera Conspiracy - Hardcore legend Max Cavelera teams up with his brother for the heaviest addition to the studio this week.

David Francey - Really got turned around by this artist, wasn't that into it at first but quickly grew to appreciate this folk release.

Kellarissa - New wave, indie, electro from this Vancouver based musician who spends a lot of her time backing up P:ano and Destroyer.

This City Defects - Thrashy experimental rock music from this Calgary 3-piece. Widdled down from a the 5 piece they were on their last release, this band sounds better now than ever. They play the Phog this coming Monday.

Timber Timbre - Montreal based act has been getting a ton of attention recently (currently on the cover of Exclaim) with a unique folk alternative sound.
